leaves and flowers, some pollen-feeding adults tend to aggregate in flowers. Many species are serious pests of cultivated plants. The main damage is caused by wounds of feeding and egg depositing which form scars on the fruit surfaces. There are about six thousand species from all areas, of which 400 species occurr in Taiwan.
