Dialogues: an Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy by Yang-Tze Tong

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung, central Taiwan, is hosting an exhibition on the work of contemporary Chinese calligrapher Ms. Yang-Tze Tong. Ms. Tong often draws inspiration from classical Chinese calligraphy and literature. To add a contemporary edge to her work, Ms. Tong actively engages her calligraphy in a dialogue with the context in which it is viewed, including the physical movement of the viewers, the spatial structure, the colors and textures of the writing surfaces, and the multimedia interface which presents the works. Her latest solo exhibition is produced in collaboration with acclaimed architect Le-ching Chiang and multimedia artist Ben Tsiang. The exhibition runs from February 21 to April 26, 2009 (http://www.ntmofa.gov.tw/english/b/b01_1.php?id=313&types=1&m1=0&m2=0&m3=0).
