The Wu-she Blood-spotted Long-horned Beetle is also named Wu-she Mountain Long-horned Beetle. It is a large-sized long-horned beetle with its body length roughly 4.5-6.5 cm. The body color is metallic dark with red pattern on the back. The head, prothorax and elytra are densely covered by reddish velvet-like short hairs. Its antennae are swollen at base (filiform), with the third to the fifth segments being the most conspicuous. Mostly found in the mountainous area of central and northern Taiwan, as well as Vietnam and northern Laos, the Wu-she Blood-spotted Long-horned Beetle is listed as a rare and valuable species of conservation concern.
