Dascyllus reticulatus, also known as Two Strip Damselfish or Two Strip Humbug, mainly inhabits outer lagoons and seaward reefs. It usually lives in branching coral heads, while also forming schools in silty habitats. For reproduction, a male cleans a rock or a piece of coral with their mouths to prepare a nest upon which a female lays eggs. Distributed in the Midwest Pacific: from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands to Samoa and the Line Islands, north to southern Japan, and south to Rowley Shoals and Lord Howe Island. Found at coastal reef areas around southern and northern Taiwan, Penghu Island, and Green Island. A very colorful and popular ornamental fish.
