To Gaze and to look beyond: Eyes of Formosa

This exhibition, scheduled to run through May 31, 2012 at National Museum of History in Taipei (http://www.nmh.gov.tw/en-us/Exhibition/Content.aspx?Para=1|22|675&unkey=54), showcases photography works which investigate the relationship between the real and imaginary of images. The 28 contemporary photographers selected for this exhibition are characterized by their imaginary thoughts, their adoption of photographic aesthetics, recording of social life, and their expression of mental landscape and contemporary objects. These young photographers followed their elders but tilted toward self expression. They trace the development of photography in Taiwan as well as societal changes and evolution of images. Their works initiate explorations of new thoughts of images.
