The island of Taiwan is situated at the Topic of Cancer. This geographic setting and the fact that there are many precipitous mountains on the island result in several climate zones. Within differing climate zones, different forest zones are formed. These manifest that besides the many climate zones, Taiwan also embraces almost all of the northern hemisphere forest zones, thus providing a precious location in the study of tree ring meteorology.
Everybody has seen the word “tree rings,” but do you know how they are formed? What kind of story do they tell us?
Annual rings are the secret codes that keep a record of the live of trees. Through these secret codes embedded in the tree rings, Mother Nature imprints the saga of the Earth. Thanks to the endeavour of scientists, let us now venture into the world of tree rings.
