Eco-Photo of the Acrossocheilus paradoxus

The Acrossocheilus paradoxus is slightly yellow-green on the sides with seven black stripes that are most obvious at a young age. The belly of the Acrossocheilus paradoxus is white, while the round and blunt snout is slightly prominent with two pairs of whiskers. All mature fish come with nuptial tubercles. The color of the body of adult fish gradually deepens and the black stripes slowly fade away. Mostly found on the upstream and midstream of fresh water rivers, the Acrossocheilus paradoxus is omnivorous and its diet includes algae and aquatic insects.
