The Deer Square Cauldron

This object was excavated from the north part of the eastern wall of HPKM1004(The Royal tomb of Shang Dynasty). With deer heads as its motif, the left and right sides are decorated with two standing birds. On the upper and lower parts of the cauldron lies a strip with kui dragon patterns. The bottom of the cauldron is inscribed with the word “deer” in hieroglyphs.
