All Roads Lead to Taiwan

This exhibition, scheduled to run through December 20, 2012 at National Museum of Taiwan History in Tainan (links), presents various collections of the museum in the stories and development of transportation in Taiwan.

The development of transportation mirrors the progression of people’s lives. The shift of people in the early history of Taiwan was either about traveling or relocation, whilst the latter largely affected the scene of living spaces of Taiwanese people today. The movement of goods at that time was about exchanging supplies, which served as the heart of trading activities. Hence, the shift of people and goods is not just the transformation of space; rather, it was a reflection of both the transition in times along with the changing ways of transportation.
