Beyond Gazing / Communion with the Permanent Collection

The graphic language is probably the most effective human communication instrument besides the written language. In the exhibition, hosted at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum till September 2, 2012 (http://www.tfam.museum/TFAM_Exhibition/exhibitionDetail.aspx?PMN=2&ExhibitionId=428&PMId=428), 57 artworks from the museum’s permanent collection spanning from 1920 to 2009 are presented, including those that have been recently acquired or restored. They are arranged into groups and displayed in seven halls to underscore the graphic language embodied and their artistic significance and cultural symbolism. In memory of centenarian artist Kuo Hsue-hu, who passed away early in 2012, a special area has been dedicated to exhibit all his artworks in the museum’s collection, affording the audience an opportunity to enjoy this cherished artistic heritage of the museum.
