Habitats and Distribution
Distributed in Japan and the Ryukyus.
In Taiwan, only from Pengchiayu, Keelungyu, Kueishantao, Lutao and Lanyu Island.

Leaves
Leaves opposite, elliptic or ovate-oblong, 10-20 cm long, 4-8 cm broad, pale green, the margin crenulate.


Flowers

Inflorescence cymes, axillary; calyx and corolla are pink; stamens 4; calyx cup-shaped to campanulate; corolla 5-7 mm long, pink; anther 3 mm long; ovary with glandular dots, glabrous.


Fruit

Fruit globose, 3-5 mm in diamete, pale green turning purple when ripe.
