National Taiwan University (NTU), the oldest research institute devoted to diverse fieldworks in Taiwan, houses one of the most comprehensive records of natural and cultural history of the island.  The digitalization of these heritages involves a wide variety of data and content types so that information technology and shared information systems have been used to bring coherence to the digital preservation service.  The creation of digital contents and database allows faculty and students drawing upon the collections to enrich learning and research.  It also serves the publics through internet access to engage ongoing knowledge advance and innovative applications.
