Rain-A Song by Li Tai-Hsiang (lyrics from poetry) (雨絲-李泰祥)
I. Lyrics (translated from Chinese)
Our love, like the rain, is on the way from star to star.
Our car is voiceless, once played in transparent big forest,
Once washed feet in waterless creek. That was a riverbed filled with lotus lamps.
Ah~~ The story of cowherd and magpie bridge exists.
It is left behind there. It is left behind there.
Our love is like the rain. Slantwise and slantwise weaving into a light memory.
And will such light memory stay in-between the stars forever?
Now it has become a smashed pearl, spreading over in the world.
Exposition of the music:
The song was composed from Cheng Chou-Yu’s poem. It describes all kinds of moods in love; there might be joy, happiness, or like smashed pearl, etc… Li Tai-Hsiang used music to describe a set of scenes, so listeners’ moods go up and down with the song.
