Nocturnal Taipei-A Solo Exhibition by David Verbeek

The exhibition, hosted at Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei through February 26, 2012 (http://www.mocataipei.org.tw/blog/post/27072243), is a combination of film and photography by David Verbeek. Verbeek is a well-known Dutch film director who shot his film “R U THERE” in Taiwan, which was selected to the Cannes film festival and was shown in 56 festivals around the world. The exhibition provides audiences an exclusive opportunity to see this art-house film. There is also a never-before-seen documentary about Verbeek as a filmmaker. It shows scenes from all his previous films, talks about what brought him to Asia and Taiwan, and his vision on the future of contemporary art-house cinema. Additionally, the exhibition includes digital projections of Verbeek’s photo series of “Nocturnal Taipei” which consists of 65 pictures.
