Five Fortunes Accompanying a Long Life

Tags: blessing | print

The five bats flying in the sky depicted in the print represent the “five fortunes.” There are three chubby and adorable kids, each holding one of the three symbolic fruits: the peach (for longevity), the chayote (for good fortune and a smooth life), and the pomegranate (a lot of descendants). The combination of these three fruits is also called the “san duo (three abundances),” and is a homophonic symbol for good luck and fortune.
