The exhibition at Taipei City Hall Famous Gallery (http://gallery.taipei.gov.tw/ct.asp?xItem=37829634&ctNode=21090&mp=100052) focuses on a series of human portraits by artist Li-Yun Lin. Lin believed that, “Parts of the human emotions and spirits are hidden and abstract; however, through a realistic observation, we can see beyond our field of vision, into the inner-side of these individuals.” Inspired by the 19th-century French painter, Gustave Courbet, Lin combined the ideas of Realism and the emotions of Romanticism to depict the inner emotions and hopes of each individual in the portraits. The exhibition will close on March 1, 2013.
