Stellaria solaris (扶輪螺)
1. Lives on the sand bottoms of shallow seawaters. 2. The shells have a low spire with long, tube-shaped, upwards-tilted spines growing out from the central whorl. Except for the long spines on the body whorl, all thorns fit snuggly to the surface of the whorl. The surface of the shell comes with thin, oblique ribs, while the bottom of the shell has distinct rayed ribs extending from the center. The umbilicus aperture is deeply embedded in the shell, so all the whorls can be clearly seen. The surface of the shell is milky white, with the thorns lighter in color during the early stages.
