Produced by Institute of Taiwan History and located in the Building for Humanities and Social Sciences, Academia Sinica, in Taipei, this exhibition focuses on historical documents on Taiwanese women. Its three themes of “traditional women,” “turning point of fate”, and “self-presentation” cover the progress women made from being totally dependent on men in the Qing Dynasty to joining workforce and participating in social activities after the War. The digitized documents include marriage licenses, deed of sale of human beings, personal diaries, certificates, correspondences, and pictures.
