Description

The National Museum of History has collected glassware since 1996 and housed 213 pieces currently. The collection comprises utensils of daily use, burial objects and decorative pieces; their styles imitate those of jade, porcelain (or bronze ware), and Syrian glassware. According to the history of glassware in China, part of the Chinese glassware seems to have been imported from foreign countries rather than produced domestically. Around 70 percent of the glassware objects at the National Museum of History are vases. Moreover, another item that is unique in this collection is glass crystal beads called “Dragonfly Eyes”.
