Description

The foremost target of the “The Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines” is to sustain the aboriginal research information archived in the Institute of Ethnology of the Academia Sinica for the educators, academics, and the general public. The database includes 14 categories of information: bibliography, cultural relics, contracts, tables, research maps, images, video, music, voice recordings, population, settlements, research talents, multimedia publications and the aboriginal documents of Ch’ing dynasty preserved in the National Palace Museum. The main purpose is for the use of the future researchers, with considerations on the added value for local teaching material production. In the database, except for the still text file of “ the aboriginal documents of Ch’ing dynasty” and the “Research Talent Database” being set up for authority control, the basic database includes different categories of aboriginal research data. On the surface, each database contains different data characteristics and independent metadata, search system, and chart pages. Actually, each database is cross-related, and they form the overall structure for the Digital Archive of Taiwan Aborigines.
