Scholars of prehistoric Taiwan have devided archaeological culture of the west coast into north, central and south. Of these divisions, archaeological collections from central Taiwan include the prehistoric Dapenkeng, Niumatou, Yingpu, Damalin, Fantzuyun, and Dachiu cultures, and historic Han culture.
