Description Amphibians are the only vertebrates with a two-staged lifestyle. They have a special relationship with other animals in between land and water, and play an important part in the ecosystem. They are mostly small in size and nocturnal. Of the known native species of frogs in Taiwan, thirteen are unique to the island, representing one-third of all known species. The archival of frog species in the Museum of Natural Science focuses not only on traditional specimen collecting, but also on ecological, evolutional, developmental and structural viewpoints, including information on their calls and lifestyles.
