Description

These files include documents, telegrams, diaries, letters, books, maps, audio-visual data and other artifacts of Chiang Kai-Shek's administrative legacy, compiled through the years by close aides of Chiang. During Chiang's relinquishment of power in 1949 amidst the defeat of the National Government in the civil war, he instucted for the files to be transported to Taiwan on the same ship as the Central Bank's gold repository; these were temporarily stored in Kaohsiung before being relocated to the Tou-Liao Guest House in Dasi and the Yangmingshan Study, and finally handed over to the Academia Historica in February, 1995. These artifacts include the following: strategical plans, revolutionary documents, familiy documents of the Chiang family, family letters, photographs, books, special documents, special files and telegrams.
