Custodial History

The National Taiwan University medical campus has a very long history, and apart from the valuable literature and various types of medical relics produced during this period, photographs of different activities have also been recorded, including building appearances, medical cases, pathology research, medical education, equipment, important figures, public health, campus activities and international interactions and other related content. In order to preserve Taiwan's medical history records, the National Taiwan University Medical Library has worked with the National Taiwan University Hospital Secretariat Office to establish the “Taiwan Modern Medical Heritage Database,” and organized, analyzed and digitized important and unique medical photographs, as well as pictures, valuable old books and journal articles that are related to the above-mentioned themes. Campus professors have been requested to compose photo introductions which will also be entered into the database. This can help the public gain understanding on the medical history of Taiwan after World War II. On 19th June 1995, the National Taiwan University Hospital profile room officially opened, displaying photographs about the history and transformations of National Taiwan University Hospital.
