Description

The antiquities held in the collections of the National Palace Museum span a period of at least 7,000 thousand years, and consist of a large variety of genres, including bronze, jade, porcelain, lacquerware, etc. Its collections are fine in quality and large in size, serving as a wonderful representation of the essence of traditional Chinese culture and art. Among the collections of porcelain, those from the Ru Kiln and the official kiln of the Song dynasty are most exquisite and also the largest in size. Those from the official kilns of the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as the dou cai from the era of Emperor Chenghua and the enameled porcelain from the early Qing, are also of excellent quality that is unrivaled throughout the world. The contents of this collection have been photographed, corresponding explanatory texts have been composed, related metadata have been collected, and all materials are currently undergoing digitization.
