Description

Document collection at the National Museum of History comprises oracle scripts, stone stele inscriptions, rubbings of painted bricks, paper documents, manuscripts, medals, pictorials, and other items of historical value. For the 2006 digital archives project, stone stele inscriptions and rubbings of painted bricks were first chosen from the document collection to be digitalized and registered, reaching up to 657 items in all. Steles, Han paintings, clay paintings, and sets of old rubbings of the ancient calligraphy works, such as Han Wu-Liang Shrine engravings, Han Pei Cun memorial stele, the ruins of Yen-Guang stele, North Wei Master Zhang Seng-Miao stele, and Tang Fang Xuan-Ling stele, are considerably significant to the study of painting art of the Han dynasty and Chinese calligraphy masterpieces.
