Description

The National Museum of History houses approximately 3,182 Chinese paintings, most of which are works dating from the early Republic of China period onwards. Works of the Qing dynasty, ranked second in number, and a small number of works of the Tang, Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties constitute the rest of the collection. The digitalization of Chinese paintings is divided into three stages based on the order of importance: the first stage centers on processing the works by “The Three Masters from across the Strait”—Zhang Da-Qian, Fu Xin-Yu, and Huang Jun-Bi. The next to be digitalized are works of the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. This is followed by the third stage where digitalization of modern and contemporary works, such as those by Hu Ke-Min, Jin Qin-Bo, Liu yen-Tao, and Fu Juan-Fu, is carried out.
