The God of Happiness

Tags: god | print

This set of decorative paintings for doors is made up of two halves, each exhibiting a noble official dressed in a traditional official hat and ceremonial clothes. One hand of the officials holds an ivory tablet and the other a flower pot, on the surface of the pot is a crimson pattern of the characters for “double happiness.” To the rear of each noble official stands an attendant child, who carries a feather fan. The painting primarily draws on warm colors that create an even more jubilant atmosphere.
