The "Cutty Sark"

Tags: craft | sailing schooner

The Cutty Sark was built as a tea clipper, and made her maiden voyage to Shanghai in 104 days. However, Cutty Sark's most impressive voyages were between England and Australia in the wool trade. For more than a century she held the record for the longest day's run  under sail ( distance sailed from noon to noon ) of 363 nautical miles. Cutty Sark is preserved at the Royal Maritime Museum in Greenwich England. (Original source : Classic Sailing Ships)
