Inscribed bovine talus (anklebone) (Part2 8688, R044854)

Obtained in the Institute of History and Philology's 13th excavation of the Yin ruins in 1936, it is a period 5 record inscription, with a calligraphic style which is relatively close to bronze script. The contents record the Shang king's sacrificial offering to Da Yi.

 

Object dimensions: length 7.3 cm, width 5.7 cm, thickness 4.5 cm. Rubbing dimensions: length 5.9 cm, width 4.12 cm
