New Site—East Asian Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition

The craft of pottery is a crucial activity in East Asian culture in the 21st century, explicitly revealing the dynamic development of contemporary ceramic art in Taiwan, Mainland China, Korea, and Japan. Today, these areas demonstrate new faces of modern ceramic art through school education. The ceramic art teachers in Taiwan continue to cultivate the next generation of students with zeal of the subject, and constantly engage in artistic creation and seek personal growth. In this context, it is of great importance to unite ceramic art related departments, schools, and universities in these four regions to hold this exhibition. Held at Yingge Ceramics Museum in New Taipei City until February 24, 2013 (http://www.ceramics.ntpc.gov.tw/Control/Exhibition.ycm?pr=883&Lang=EN), the exhibition presents a unique fusion of tradition and modern styles in East Asian pottery. It will develop, stimulate, and expand the vision and aesthetic thinking of a new generation of Asian ceramic artists.
