Guandu Mazu Stone
According to the inscription on this huge stone, it was acquired by stonemasons under the order of Chen Yueji. It was intended to be used in the construction of the Tamsui to Keelung roadway. However, local folklore has it that when the masons started to cut the stone, the Guandu Mazu Temple shook so violently that they did not dare to continue the work. Hearing this, a trustee of Kuandu temple, Lin Dachun, purchased this stone from the manager, Chen Riren, so as to prevent others from unwittingly or maliciously cutting the stone. He inscribed the story on the stone and thus it was called the 'Mazu Stone.'
