Green Dream Lake-Folk Song by Li Tai-Hsiang (青夢湖-李泰祥)
I. Lyrics (translated from Chinese)
Cool dews in the early morning are glittering and pure.
April is the lake water covered by hope and shades.
I am the little boat that is not edging away,
Quietly repose on the shore.
Breezes lightly perform happy rejoicing.
Here has light and beauty.
Let me quietly sleep here,
And enjoy the last serenity.
The green dream surrounds the dark lake.
La……
The sweet sentiment is gradually changing.
My flowing thoughts just like this,
Gradually becomes a poem.
Theme of the work:
The music describes young girl’s pureness and beauty before the life sails.
Summary/Story:
The song was from Jung-Tzu’s poem, “April,” which wants to express a young girl’s life situation is just like a boat that waits for edging away quietly in the early morning light as cool as dew. The pure, beautiful, and serene feel is just because at the next moment she is going to know this fantastic and unknown world, starting her boat and sliding into the sea of life. Maybe the trip is going to have countless glory, and yet it might be having endless turbulences. But at this moment, her happiness is sparkling and sweet; with no wind and waves, she is covered by shades of hope and her future is so bright and broad.
