Function/Purpose:    This is an early type of magnetic telephone. While using a magnetic telephone to call, first crank the right- side handle to generate inductive current and inform the operator to call the person wanted. The transmitter is set in the center of the telephone body and the user has to be close to the transmitter while talking. The receiver is hung on the left side of the telephone body, whose top is mounted with two bells that will be rung by the current while the operator calls. This type of telephone is commonly installed in public places.
Characteristics:    This type of telephone is mainly made of wood with two 1.5V batteries contained in its lower part. The size of this type of telephone is still big.
