Taiwan Barwing

Description:
Smallish (20cm) green barbet with gaudy blue, red, yellow and black head. Distinguished from other barbets by snallish size, blck eyebrow, blue cheeks, yellow throat and red spot on sides of neck. Immature is duller. Iris--brown; bill--black; feet--greyish-green.Hollow tok-tr-trrrrrt call about 20 times per minute with emphasis on third syllable.
Distribution:
Lives in subtropical forests from 1000-2000m

Typical barbet of upper and middle canopy.
